Our work in the UK has expanded during the last few years, with changes in our economy their is such a vital need for basic essentials that people simply cant afford or cant access.

School Uniform Project

What started as an idea in 2015 to help a few families who simply couldn’t afford a uniform for their children rapidly grew as we realized the need across the area was vast. With 1 in 3 children living in poverty this project is essential for children to have a uniform that fits & keeps them warm, also we have seen this help children’s self esteem and prevent bullying. So far we have been able to provide over 1000 new and used uniform items.

Helping the Homeless

Homelessness has risen during the past year, many people are ending up this way due to job losses, addiction, or finances not meeting basic everyday needs. We provided new clothing (coats, hoodies, joggers, thermal socks, hats, gloves etc) during the winter months. This winter over 500 items have gone out to people in Barnsley, Doncaster and Sheffield.

“If it wasn’t for people like you helping people like us I’m not sure how we would survive on those streets” John, Sheffield

Baby Bank

We never planned this project it sort of just happened, hearing of a young single woman expecting twins and struggling we knew we had to help with some baby items. We soon were receiving contact from local health visitors & family centers for expectant mums in desperate need. We have been able to provide pack including changing bags, nappies, wipes, blankets, clothing, bottles and more. With the generosity of local people we have also been able to gift larger items that are used but good condition, including cots, baths, pushchairs, bouncers etc.

“Thank you so much for what your charity has done for me.. finding out I was pregnant with not a lot of support has been scary, I have been very anxious about being able to afford baby items.. today though I know I can sit and enjoy my pregnancy” Andrea, Rotherham

Crisis Response

Going through an unexpected crisis puts a real strain on families, RBB has recently been trying to support those facing difficult times. From families devastated by house fires, loss of a parent to people fleeing domestic violence or struggling with unexpected illness we have been able to help people with essential items such as beds, sofas, quilts, curtains and more.

“Thank you so much for all the brand new bedding. Sofa and bed. They have got for kids and me They’re lovely and we’re so grateful it’s crazy how some one you don’t no can help you so much” Megan, Barnsley
